Ancient Greece – The army of Mycenae and King Agamemnon faced King Triopas and the army of Thessaly, as depicted in the 2004 epic film “Troy”. Agamemnon approached Triopas and suggested, “Let’s settle this war in the old manner. Your best fighter against mine.” The old king smirked, turned to his army, and bellowed, “BOAGRIUS!” The army erupted in cheers. What appeared from a sea of spears is arguably the largest man ever seen in Greece. In response, Agamemnon, following a bout of consternation over his absence from the army, summoned Achilles, the Mycenaean champion.
Achilles approached and Boagrius sneered with arrogant glee; Achilles is no larger than any other man in the Mycenaean army. Boagrius turned his back on Achilles to rouse the army that was eager to see swift victory and return to their wives, children, and farms. As Achilles continued his advance, Boagrius threw spears at a distance, and yet Achilles quickly closed the gap. Before Boagrius realized the great threat Achilles did indeed pose, the sword had already been plunged deep into his torso. Boagrius was dead before he hit the ground. The Thessalian army and their old king fell deadly silent in dismay.
Fast-forward over 3,000 years to the beginning of 2016 and the battle for the US presidency was beginning to take shape. The royalty of the Democratic Party chose their champion, Hillary Clinton. She was an easy choice for a laundry list of reasons to which you are aware. She towered above all other contenders during the primaries as an untouchable force and the presumptive nominee out of the gate. Even as her weaknesses began to show through a valiant effort by Bernie Sanders to challenge her supremacy, the Democratic National Committee shackled him to a bolder and demanded he bend the knee upon his inevitable defeat.
Hillary Clinton stepped out in front of her army, ready to decimate any man that dared to face her. After much consternation, the Republicans summoned their hero, Donald Trump and the Democrats sneered with arrogant glee.
Politically, it seemed, this man was, by orders of magnitude, a lesser threat than Achilles posed to Boagrius. Trump was a champion who had never seen political combat and was less than the size of any soldier of either army. He had not paid his dues to the D.C. bureaucracy, built no political influence, no coalitions, and had no one in his pocket. During the primaries, Hillary maintained double-digit leads over Trump in head-to-head polls.
To the Democrats, Trump was an unrecognizable speck of dust, a bug to be easily crushed and flicked away into the historical waste bin where all other defeated presidential candidates remain today. So, why should they not have such confidence?
As the general election kicked off, and Trump began his approach, polls still heavily favored Hillary, even until the last moment. As Hillary and the Democrats began to realize Trump closed the gap and was much closer, much faster than they anticipated, it was too late. The Trump campaign politically sank its sword into the Clinton campaign and it experienced a swift and dramatic death.
The DNC royalty spread the 2020 primary candidates out on a table like playing cards and wrung their hands in trepidation; the taste of their own blood still fresh in their memories. Twenty-eight candidates threw their name into the hat with the hopes of being handpicked, anointed, and presented as the new champion of the Democratic Party. Among the recognizable names, many youthful, energetic and charismatic candidates of varying ideas emerged and diversely fell along the political spectrum from centrist moderates to hard left.
Philosophically consistent candidates, such as Sanders and Gabbard, presented strong arguments, stood on principled ideas, and had voting records to back it up. They positioned themselves perfectly to jab and expose the weaknesses of their opponents’ discrepant pasts. Gabbard famously dressed down Kamala Harris on her record as an attorney general and Sanders grilled Biden on his senatorial voting record on Medicare, veterans’ benefits, and social security.
Young up-and-comers and outsiders breathed life into the Democratic race. Buttigieg was charming, concise, openly gay, and showed decent traction. Yang, a billionaire, masterfully distracted from his wealth by positioning himself as someone who has seen income inequality from the “other side” and therefore knows firsthand how to combat it with calls for universal basic income. Beto O’Rouke portrayed a JFK-esque vibe. He is a charismatic, young, handsome man who pronounced big hopes and big dreams, but alas, inflicted a fatal wound upon himself by drawing the ire of Trump too soon.
Considering the candidates above with the remaining sluggish, yawn-worthy bureaucrats such as Warren, Booker, and de Blasio, and the comically and financially mindboggling campaign of Bloomberg, the Democratic Party seemed ripe for fresh faces, novel ideas, and contemporary strategies to not only defeat Trump but to usher in a new age for the party.
The DNC, still reeling from the spectacular defeat, had a decision to make and it all came down to Joe. Biden was among the weakest of the primary candidates. As highlighted above, Bernie easily sliced Joe’s senatorial record apart. In nearly 50 years of politics, Biden has amassed a treasure trove of blundering comments, ridiculous gaffs, reprehensible legislation, and disastrous votes that steered the US government in destructive directions.
Barack Obama repeatedly urged Biden not to run or else he would “embarrass himself” or “damage his legacy”. Obama “reluctantly” endorsed Biden for the Democratic ticket only after every other candidate dropped out of the race.
At this point, Hunter’s laptop had not been “discovered”. Even so, questions about Joe’s involvement in Ukraine was a sliver of weakness. A weakness that has now been fully pried open by the salacious and reckless behavior of his son.
If that was not enough, he is old. The DNC took a huge risk and bet that Joe would not develop any major health issues before Inauguration Day. Sure, no one could have known how far Biden’s mental state would slip in just a few short months, but his penchant for slurring words and gaffs was no secret. As Vice President, when Obama announced the victory of Obamacare, a hot mic caught Joe telling Obama, “This is a big fucking deal.” Even Robin Williams poked fun at Joe in a stand-up comedy routine, “Joe is like your uncle that’s on a new drug and hasn’t gotten the dosage right.”
Despite all of this, the DNC still chose Joe as their candidate… why? Trump struck down your champion in spectacular fashion and you place a dodding geriatric as the replacement?
Polls and TDS-fueled fervor to defeat Trump is the only logical explanation. Biden held a sizable lead over Trump in head-to-head polls during the primaries, which widened as we headed into the general election, much to the pleasure of the Democratic Party. Everything seemed to be going according to plan, until last week, when it became clear to party insiders that 2020 is shaping up to be a repeat of 2016, or even worse.
The few pollsters to call 2016 correctly, such Trafalgar Group and StatesPoll.com, are predicting not only a Trump victory but an electoral college landslide. The data is anecdotally corroborated by the fact the Democrats are desperate to stop the bleeding. Biden has canceled his lid, been pushed out of his basement, and is finally making live campaign speeches; opening himself up to additional risk by exposing and broadcasting his deteriorating mental health condition. Obama has also been rolled out as a last-ditch effort to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.
Even as I write, more and more mainstream polls show Trump taking decisive victories in key battleground states, most notably Pennsylvania and Florida, to which are crucial to Biden’s hopes at victory. Trump is on fire, rampaging through swing states, and is on pace to execute an average of four and a half rallies per day up until election day.
If Trump does indeed win, no one is to blame but the leadership of the Democratic Party and the DNC. Hell, the fact that Trump is even this close is embarrassing. They, again, relied on polls as a compass to guide their decision, and once again, it is looking like a bloodbath. We, as the constituency of the United States, should prepare for a civil war within the Democratic Party in which the young, far left-wing will revolt against the moderate old guard. Expect Schumer, Pelosi, and gang to be politically drawn and quartered.
However, if Biden wins, it will cement the authority and power of Big Tech and the Mainstream Media to pick and choose presidents, because, without their unwavering cover and support for Biden’s campaign, and the merciless and relentless attacks on the Trump campaign, Biden, by any rational measure, would not have stood a chance.
If Trump wins, the left are going to go nuclear with their meltdown. They won’t accept defeat. They won’t give losers consent. I fear as close a real life civil war as we can get
